This is a VERY good thing for the company.

They save 2.5 million dollars and still get their ad out there xD

My guess is the company wanted the ad to be rejected. I doubt a Super Bowl is cost effective for a gay dating web site. But having the ad rejected gives them lots of free publicity.

Yeah I do not see how they could afford that, and that's a pretty funny ad would be great for the super bowl id think.

Seeing as how I don't watch the Super Bowl, I would not have seen the ad. I think I will check out the site.

I guess in my opinion I can't judge the validity of this. I wouldn't want to see an ad on TV with two men voraciously making out, and that goes the same for men, women, or mixed sexes. I think that sort of thing (making out, not homosexuality) is a bit inappropriate. I can't form an opinion, though, because I haven't seen the other types of commercials. It depends on context.

EDIT: I just watched the commercial, and I decided it's not THAT bad. It's comical, sheesh. I side with the company.

Honestly, I don't think it was that great of a commercial. Superbowl adds are supposed to be the cream of the crop, so that may be why it was rejected.

To tell you the truth, that was my thought as well. LGBT seem to be lacking in most film production areas xD

Superbowl ads are not supposed to be the "cream of the crop".

They are supposed to be the "most expensive of the crop". :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

There is definitely a correlation between ad price and quality, but its money that CBS is after here not picking the best ads. Ive seen alot of Superbowl ads (I watch them online the day after haha) and so many of them just do not measure up, and a big part of that is who they are targeted at i am sure. IMO this ad is actually quite good for 30 seconds and I actually do think alot of gay sports fans (gasp! yes, they do exist!) would really enjoy it and it would even make them feel more included in the whole stereotypically heterosexual male event.

    Just my take

I agree with this. However, since it's a majorly heterosexual event (to watch the superbowl--> I mean heteros do generally outnumber homosexuals), then if they wanted to put a gay ad on the Superbowl, one with two females would probably have no problem... I think that once people get used to the idea of two females being together, working the guys in there will come along in time due to the societal ideals that women in general are more affectionate, and seeing two guys being affectionate together is an alien concept to most.

That commercial is lame, they weren't even making out..It just looks like it.

I like how the guys are clearly Packer/Viking fans.. Maybe, just maybe, it was rejected because a certain team cheated their way into the Super Bowl and now the commercial doesn't make sense for either team in the SB...Now if the Great One (Favre) was in the SB, this commercial would have made sense...

As for a gay dating site not being able to afford the SuperBowl.. Just think of ####### and all the money that site gave to Republican candidates...

The ad took like $200 to make. It was pathetic.

Sheesh, I bet MadTV spent more money on their two guys watching football skit. Watch - it's the best

To me it's obvious - this is a site that wanted free pubilicity and decided to submit it to CBS knowing full well it would be rejected. I mean, did anyone even check out their site? It's not your run-of-the-mill gay dating site :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
