My first coming out was kinda funny (well maybe it's one of those you-had-to-be-there events) but this is basically a rundown of what happened. This happened last september or october. I was IM-ing to a good friend of mine who's bi. She's part of the GSA in my school and she goes all out for Day of Silence etc. She jokes about having a gaydar. We were having a deep discussion talking about homosexuality throughout history, in different cultures, and its causes... Me: Remember you said you had a gaydar last year in chem? You could totally get a vibe when travis and trev walked by during lab? Her: Yeah. they are totally a secret couple. Me: Well point your gaydar at me. Catch anything? Her: Nope. its all clear. Me: I think it needs a tune up. Her: Are you trying to tell me something? Me: NO, REALLY?! Her: OMG!!!!! you came out! Me: yeah. just dont tell anyone. Her: I won't. and btw, my gaydar only works for girls xD Me: erm herm. anyway. after typing that, it sounds like the corniest thing ever. just thought i'd share.

That's sweet. My first coming out went something like this: I pulled a friend aside after band practice Me: You know how we were watching Will & Grace yesterday? Her: Yeah. Me: You know how you were talking about how much like Will and Grace we are? Her: Yeah. (She's lively isn't she?) Me: Well, you were more right than you may have noticed. *fifteen seconds of silence as I nervously wait for her to get it* Her: NUH-UH!!!!! *10 minute hug* Her: I knew the universe wouldn't deny me gays! I love you! Me: Well that's too bad. We plan on getting an apartment in New York when we graduate from college. We'll probably be going to the same one. She's about 3 or 4 years older than me and I would marry her if I didn't like boys.
