Anyone else loving her new album Circus? I usually stay away from that genre, as it isn't something I personally prefer..., but I'm really loving it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZSLIq6YiRY And I swear I had a crush on a guy that looks almost just her love interest in the video when I use to work at a pharmacy. He didn't work there but came in every now and then to buy a drink, and gosh he just made me melt! So needless to say the guy in the vid is fine! (!)
Everyone who knows me knows I'm a hugely outspoken Brit fan. Circus is probably one of my favorite albums of hers. It's an amazing album, from an amazing talent.
<_< >_> No, no, no, I do not know what you are talking about. I didn't hear metal covers of her songs then look into her originals and liked them sorta. . .no, no, no, that's not at all what happened. . .
A lot of people don't get why I'm a Brit fan! Well I am... take that! And I love the new songs... I just haven't found the time to get her new album. I love Circus especially! p.s. the guy in the video is FINE....
i don't get why certain female celebrities are classed as 'gay icons'. Women like Britney and Cher (or maybe pop music in general) never appealed to me at all. Granted, I listen to mostly thrash/heavy metal so the style of music is different, but what's so special about these women? Shouldn't gay men idolize men instead? I realise what i'm saying is a tad narrow-sighted, but i just don't get it!
the guy in that video was HOT! anyways could have done done without naked brittney ruining my buzz lol
Her new material is definitely more catchy. Womanizer and Circus both have really good club-type beats for them. So even if one doesn't like the actual song the melody is addictive enough.
You prompted the same questions in my head, so I wikipedia'd it and... and the oldest gay icon is Saint Sebastian But yeah, I'm not hugely into the whole gay icon thing.. but my music is quite diverse so I have a lot of heavy metal/black metal and plain ol' screamo but equally I have indie, pop and a few britney albums Hope that was useful.
I felt bad when she had her meltdown and I'm so happy she is on the right track, now. I haven't heard her new album, but I have heard it's incredible. Yay for Britney!
Blackout was like Emanicipation of Mimi, but more so - it's the rather blatant attempt by a producer/record label to cover for an artist who can't deliver. Nothing that was interesting on Blackout was due to Britney - it was due to production techniques and turns of phrase. It was also so pro-Tooled that that could've been ANYBODY "singing" those tracks, even me. I think twice there were things sung that made me say, "OK, that sounds like Britney Spears". The rest was anonymous pop/dance fodder. Circus suffers from some of the same problems, actually - too ProTooled, too slick. But they've now given her enough catchy hooks and buoyant melodies that I don't give a damn. And yes, I'm well-aware that most of it (the CD AND the backstory) is manufactured for my consumption. That doesn't mean it isn't tasty. Lex
Well put lex. I didn't know you were a music snob like me. Well not really a snob... we just know what we're actually listening to. Doesn't stop us from enjoying it.
i love the new album. im more into rnb and hip hop, but this album is amazing. im so glad she's turning her life around.
Britney I Love ya so much!!! (screams) marry me lol XD lol i'm a diehard britney fan her album is really good, especially womanizer, circus... and yes, that guy in the video is pretty hot lol i think he's like a model or something
Britney will always be the #1 girl in my life! Mad love for the brit-mister! I love her blackout AND circus albums! Her sound is so edgy and rough, i love it. The tunes are addictive and the messages are always so cocky. Lace and Leather? Oooh la la As for the "gay icon" thing, i think she makes a good one! She is always being hunted down, hounded and harrased. Plus she kissed Madonna. Hot!
See, I've never really listened to anything of Britney before...I think maybe her first album. I'm into indie/british/soft rock music the majority of the time. Bands like Radiohead, Coldplay, The Decemberists, and etc., So for me to listen to Britney Spears and actually like it must mean I'm becoming more effeminate. Or something, who knows.
