So I'm entering the Dubai College Masterchef Tournament on tuesday I practised the dish I'm making yesterday, and we get marked for how good it looks, as well as tastes. It's called Jamaican chicken, and it looks like this: Basically just small bite size pieces of chicken sauteed in a pan, with organic tinned chopped tomatoes in their juice, with onion, garlic, green pepper, chicken stock, a bit of paprika for the spice, and bits of pineapple and mango. Does it sound and look nice?
Damn you! I'm starving you have to post a topic about delicious looking and sounding food. you make me sad . Jk, jk, it does look and sound good though. Best of luck.
hmmmmmmmmmm looks like a pile of ****, only jokin it loooks deeelicsious , it looks like when you mix egg and ketchup yummy ^_^
Oh, that's just the light, it's not that brightly coloured when you see it in real life I'll take a picture of it without the flash on tuesday ^_^
Sounds and looks Terrific.. You'll have to mail me some since I can't make it to Dubai. Panda Porter ### Beavertail Canyon The Kingdom of Canada
looks like some sort of Chinese food mmm, I wish I can taste that. might go well with white rice Good luck on your dish! Tell us how it goes
It looks and sounds lovely. But don't these chef-fy people usually like dishes with fancy relishes and all laid out snootily? Just normal nice-looking food like that is usually judged plain
Oh, well this was just a practice. For the real thing, I'm going to serve it with white rice, put it on a nice plate, and have half slices of pineapple around the edge ^_^
Yes, I was going to suggest that the presentation should be improved as it is just a plate full of the one thing at the moment, and no matter how good the food is, it doesn't stand out and look special. A nice plate (larger than that one, and plain so it doesn't destract from the food), wipe any splashes off the edge, and presenting it with the rice and pineapple, just as you suggested, would look so much better. Can you add something that gives a contrasting colour too? The food is dark yellow, the pineapple will be a light yellow and the rice probably whiteish, so not a wide range of colours. If you could add a couple of pieces of something green that could help set it off and would show you have attention to detail. Good luck!
Thanks Paul, it's mostly red in real life, just the flash on my camera makes it all yellowish. I'm thinking maybe some coriander, and more green peppers, to get the green effect. Or possibly a green plate?
Great idea! I believe in you! I think that's really cool what you're doing. ^_^ Seanathon endorses and condones the use of pineapple.
