as you know, my friend/co-worker has introduced me to her friend from high school who happened to have been a model for playboy. not a playmate, but a model. so, i called her last night, and we were talking together for a while. then she said "i really wanna hang out with you!" me: "are you free monday?" danii: "yes, all day!" me: "so am i!" her: "what do you wanna do?" me: "i haven't thought that far yet..." *note: here is where i get naive!* her: "how about you come over to my place and hang out with me all day?" me: "nah, let's do something else...i just got a rad idea!" her: "what is it?!" me: "have you ever ridden on a train?" her: "only once, but i was 3" me: "how about we ride the tri-rail?" her: that sounds like fun!" so, then we were texting all day. her texts: "i can't wait to see you!" "remember monday: you, me, and the train!" "how about we take a night train ride?" *another naive moment...* i texted saying how i had no other plans on monday, just her, and she replied with: "pick me up whenever. i don't have any other plans. just you" so like, i'm gonna pick her up around 1 or so, go to the train station, and maybe go to the zoo? but like, i dunno if it's a date or not. i dunno if she likes me, ya know? on the phone, she told me that she loves how spontaneous i am. it's just gonna be her and i. and she did invite me to her house, just the two of us. some of my co-workers have said that i should let her kiss me. some have said that i should lean in for the kiss. some have said i should try to hold her hand at one point and see what happens. the kiss things i understand. but like, i hold the hand of my co-worker, momo (the one that introduced me to her) all the time at work. but my one friend said that the hand thing is a good indicator because, unlike momo, i don't really know danii. sorry for the wall of text peoples. what do you guys think? date, or no date?
hrm...is this another "let's ignore this problem because it's not the same sex" type thing? cause i really need advice :icon_sad:
Based solely on the transcript of the conversation, I would say it would be difficult to infer her intentions. I would suggest keeping it in mind that it should be "date-like", though you need not necessarily even use the term. Be the charming, young gentleman that you are expected to be on a date. Even if you are wrong and it is just a friend thing, you don't really lose much being chivalrous.
i mean unless she knows that you are gay, id say that everything shes said has been basically flirting with you
I'd say it's a date, cos she invited you to her house, told you you could pick her up at any time in the day, pretty much she's saying she really wanna go somewhere with you. I might be taking it completely wrong, but I reckon she's cracking on to you.
It's a date... she wants to hang out with you all day, she wants you to come to her place, she wants to take the train at night (which is romantic)... and she doesn't know you all that well. If you and she were better friends, then maybe that kind of enthusiasm would be less of a tip-off, but as someone who's new in your life? I mean it may not be a formal "date" date but if she's not into you, then she's pretty shit at managing expectations... not that I think that men and women can't be friends if there's a possibility of sexual activity between them but she's just a little too enthusiastic, so either she's more naïve than you are or she's pretty interested. The important question is, are you interested back?
Sorry, guess I didn't support myself her: "how about you come over to my place and hang out with me all day?" I wouldn't think anything of this if she hadn't added 'all day' at the end. That makes it seem like she is really into you, on that 'special' level. "i can't wait to see you!" "remember monday: you, me, and the train!" "how about we take a night train ride?" She could just be excited to see you, but I really doubt she just wants to hang out. Not trying to offend, but a train ride isn't really all that much to get excited about, and she is acting like it's disneyland or something. I'd say she's more excited about seeing YOU than the train. "pick me up whenever. i don't have any other plans. just you" Implying she had cleared her entire schedule to be with you. Based on all that you've said, and what she's said, I'm pretty sure that she has date-expectations for your little train ride. Hope I made myself more clear, sorry it took so long to respond
yeah i agree that it sounds suspiciously date-like. but i guess, just go into it with an open mind. if something happens, hurrah, if not, just enjoy her company.
I would not focus on classifying it as a date or not. Just go and have fun, be yourself and see what happens. The best dates are those where you just go out an have fun. As for the kiss question, you have to see how it develops. If the moment is right, go for it.
Let me figure this out. What is a date? Guy calls girl. " Chat .chat >" Girl says "Lets get together, I'm free all day Monday." Guy says"Lets do a train ride." Girl says "OK" THAT IS A DATE The only thing is I"d be there at 8AM. She wants you.
