This post is mainly directed to the site's Aussie posters and those with a knowledge of Oz. Basically it's pretty likely that in late 2007 or early 2008 I'll be taking up a 6 month exchange with some of my work's offices in Australia. Now i've always wanted to visit the place and this for sure will save me the holiday costs Now the HQ (and where I guess I'm going to be working most) is in Melbourne, but I do think I'll have at least 3 weeks of that 6 months free to explore a little bit. So I was hoping that some of the site members would be able to recommend some places that are good for days and/or nights out. Oh and yes I am wanting to try out surfing. Any input would be greatly appreciated... just trying to plan ahead. Thanks Jamie
I would say Adelaide, just cos i live here...Probably the only interesting things here are The Malls Balls (a big statue in the middle of the town mall thing), Glenelg/Magic Mountain, which is the main beach and a big theme park and maybe Barossa Valley which is full of wine tasting and stuff....Botanic Gardens is fun as well...its this huge park with lots of plants Apart from Adelaide, i recommend the Gold Coast...Its got huge theme parks and a really really nice beach, but is pretty expensive and Sydneys always cool
cool. well, i have a phobia for hights and i get sea sick even thinking about getting on a boat, so i don't know how i'll get over there...
lol. *tries* -zipzap- Brrrr... why is it so cold? *Sees a pinguin* AHHHH!!!! I'm In the South Pole!!!! :tears: lol.i guess i don't know how! ^^;
yeah! um, they were finally free, for a moment, then i saw the zoo come and take them away again! lol
thanks for the points of interest guys, so sounds like i'll be doing a fair bit of travelling when i'm over there. Would be good if I bump in to some of you over there (as I will by hunting down some of the gay places). Oh and theme parks are a must!!!! That reminds me... I ought to check if my driving licence is valid over there. Keep the suggestions coming please.
It is valid, but I think you'll have to drive on the other side of the road here. If its like America in the UK. Not sure how long it goes for, a month I think.
