I don't know if anyone ever heard of this movie. It was made in Quebec and I know it became pretty popular in France. You guys definately need to check this out even if it's with subtitles! The movie hits many topics but's it basically about a boy who discovers he's gay and tries to get acceptance from his father. The family is a traditional catholic one so it becomes a difficult struggle for him. The movie was very well made and the trailer doesn't do it justice but here it is: http://youtube.com/watch?v=1SJWdJs6ZiM&mode=related&search=
Movies with subtitles are the best kind of movies, usually. I saw it... it was good but I thought it was more about the boy and the father's relationship than it was him coming to terms with being gay. Very much one of those movies written about gay people for a straight audience, I thought. Not in a bad way, though--it is definitely worth seeing.
I really wanted to see this when it first came out but never got chance. Ill guess I wil get the dvd soon since I cant rent it.
You only have one store? That must suck! I was going to say Netflix but that's US-based. I'm sure they have a similar service (DVDs by mail) in the UK, though.
Canadian made film, you bet i saw it. And loved it too.. i watched it without subtitles first, but the Quebec accents with he french made it too hard for me, so i watched it a second time avec subtitles :icon_wink .
I actually saw this movie a couple of weeks ago I thought it was pretty good actually, even with subtitles.
