Establishing "LGBT-free zones" was criticized by large part of society and especially by WWII veterans and members of the Polish Underground. It is often pointed out that this resembles "Jews not allowed" signs used by the Nazis during occupation of Poland.

During his presidential campaign for a second term Andrzej Duda used the words "LGBT are not people, it is ideology" which was immediately compared to Adolph Hitler's words on socialists and communists. Duda claimed he was misquoted and issued no apology.

There were many members of current government and members of parliament belonging to ruling party who voiced against LGBT. The most famous was Przemysław Czarnek's "We must finish with this human rights and equality idiotisms. These people are not equal to normal people..." speech. It was filled with homophobic slurs and obviously fascist in nature and far from being the first or last one. Czarnek was made a Minister of Education and Science as a reward for his unrelenting hatered. Luckily he contracted COVID-19 at the same time.

The concepts of "gender ideology" and "LGBT ideology" were actually made up several years prior by Polish Catholic Church to cover up endless list of cases of pedophilia and child rape committed by its members and attempts to protect the perpetrators: one such case included prelate archbishop Wesołowski which caused international uproar. Ever since the Poland is caught up in a battle:
    - one side is the political majority consisting of far-right and "christian democrats" who join forces with the Polish Catholic Church in open support of child abuse, woman abuse, pedophilia, child raping and woman raping. They also work towards total ban on abortion, in vitro fertalisation and same-sex relationships.
    - the other side is a political minority consisting mostly of socliberals (Left Together party), some socdemocrats and socialists, most of anarchists and of course LGBT-activists and feminists who defend the human rights, minority rights (LGBT, women), child rights and so on.

The fight for LGBT rights becomes quite violent in Poland as members of the minority are being assaulted in public, often beaten, there were even murder attempts lately. The numbers of LGBT youth who attempt suicide soar. The demonstrations of LGBT people and their supporters are often surrounded and assaulted by haters, there was a thwarted terrorist (bombing) attempt on one of them. There are plenty 'hatewagons' (trucks displaying hateful propaganda and lies about LGBT people and abortion) in every major town. "Hatewagons" are illegal but actually sponsored by government and protected by the police force on government's orders. This is because LGBT and woman rights activists vandalize them on regular basis (since reporting them to the police is pointless).

There was a major case of Margot, a non-binary LGBT activist and anarchist, who was accused of assaulting a "hatewagon" driver and other multiple acts of vandalism. The prosecution arranged her apprehension to be a show off but if backfired and resulted in a clash between the police force and protesting LGBT activists who were momentarily joined by many onlookers. The police retaliated by apprehending additional 48 people, mostly random people from the crowd who didn't even know what was happening in that time, and did so with shocking display of brutality that shattered the public trust.

It is interesting to know that the support for LGBT rights and abortion is growing in Poland.
