We have what we calle a "bonus child" who we took in because she is trans with ultra-Republican parents. She paid us a surprise visit from college today. I always love when she visit. Unfortunately, no matter how I try, I slip up and use the wrong pronouns. She doesn't take issue with it, but I still feel bad.

As long as she knows that you're not doing it deliberately and you correct yourself.

The usage of correct pronouns take time. The most important thing is that you are trying and soon there wont be a slip ups anymore either. If you still feel bad, then talk about this with her. When you slip up and immediately correct yourself, then she sees too that you are putting in effort and that is all that matters.
