Currently reading All The Invisible Things by Orlagh Collins, and it's honestly just what I needed at this particular point in time. It features a bi MC, coming out/coming of age story, and though it's got its share of flaws, I feel these are overshadowed by how it makes me feel while I'm reading it.

I suppose it depends on how well stocked your library is. You could always put in a request that they get it, if they don't have it already.

Does anyone have any good Transgender book recommendations? Preferably ones that are about them coming out about it and going through HRT?

Ursula K. LeGuin and The Left Hand of Darkness. She also has some stories with interesting takes on relationships including polyamory. She writes mainly science fiction/fantasy. Her parents were anthropologists at University of California Berkeley

She is one of my favorite authors. I love her. There is also a book written in the 60s "The Word for World is Forest" that is similar to "Avatar."

I just want to say Thank you for this thread. I am new to reading LGBTQ+ books and it is still hard to find them. I like to buy my books in-store and around here it is mainly used bookstores. So thank you. I learned about some new authors and I am excited to look them up.

LGBTQReads has some excellent recommendations, they also curate lists, even for specific categories.

What kinds of books interest you? Fiction or non-fiction or both? Do you like a specific genre? I might be able to provide you with a few suggestions.

    Here are a few recommendations:

    Non-Fiction/Essays/Memoir

Shiri Eisner, Bi - Notes for a Bisexual Revolution
    • Eisner is an activist who wrote book which takes a look at bisexual politics. It's a radical manifesto and provides insights on the meanings of bisexual politics. The author also looks at issues related to biphobia, feminism.
Kate Harrad, Claiming the B in LGBT
    • It's an anthology that chronicles the history of the bisexual movement, and also takes a look at where it is headed. It includes essays, poems, and articles showcasing lived experiences and struggles faced by bisexuals within a culture defined by norms that dictate that one can only be attracted to one sex or gender.
Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio, Remembering Our Intimacies
    • Through the lens of Indigenous queer theory and Indigenous feminism, the author takes a look at desire and belonging and recovers the Indigenous concepts that are intricately linked to the indigenous people of Hawaii's understandings of land, memory and body.
Jen Winston, Greedy: Notes from a Bisexual Who Wants Too Much.
    • It's an essay collection about the author's journey of discovery and what it means to be queer.

    Fiction:

Alex Ohlin, We Want What We Want
Zaina Arafat, You Exist Too Much
    Negar Djavadi, Disoriental
    Jamika Ajalon, Skye Papers
