Obviously most of the music I listen to is by straight people. But sometimes I listen to obvious queer music like Tegan and Sara. I don't really go out of my way to look for queer music. One interesting thing is that I just found out one of my favorite artists Fever Ray is actually queer. A lot of the music I listen to involves androgynous women. I usually assume they're straight. I listen to this experimental/avant-garde jazz musician with a shaved head and slightly androgynous appearance. I think she's straight, but other people don't.

I’ve always listened to queer artists, even befor I knew I was queer. I just so related to the lyrics, probs would have been a big hint if I would have paid attention...I have always loved the indigo girls (esp 2007-2010 stuff). Brandi Carlile is a fave...their lyrics are such therapy for me...

Yeah. I definitely resonated with Tegan and Sara when I was around twelve or so. Even though I wasn't quite ready to admit it to myself.

I don't like Kylie. I don't understand gay men's fascination with her, she does nothing for me. I don't mind a bit of classical Madonna, but I've never bought any of her albums.

I like a bit of Elton John. As for female divas, I love Tina Turner, and I also like a bit of Diana Ross and Celina Dion. But I'm more into singer songwriters such as Tori Amos and Kate Bush, who have a lot of gay fans. So I don't know how gay that makes my musical tastes. There are straight men out there who listen to more gay artists and gay icons than I do.

    I listen to country.

The gayest stuff I listen to is anything produced by Nile Rodgers, so Diana's ross, Kylie Minogue, sister sledge, etc

Let's just say a lot of my music is utterly queer, I just relate a lot more to the lyrics sung by queer artists, Like I have Pansy Division, Jonny McGovern, Imperial Teen, Hey Willpower, Shitting Glitter, Kids on TV and a whole bunch more in fact a third of my entire collection is just artists who are LGBT+. I just like listening to queer artists and then a lot of my female artists, well let's just say some of their songs are utterly queer as well, I just happen to like so much queer music, but for me I guess it would've always happened, I like being able to relate to artists and listening to their lyrics and most of my not queer stuff is very instrumental based music. It's all about the music with those songs.

So I guess if we use stereotypes with music, my queer stuff is mainly because of the lyrical content and I listen to the lyrics a lot more with those songs(so my feminine side), and my other stuff is mostly electronic, danceable music that I listen to for the music and lyrically wise I try to go for more non romantic songs and about robots taking over and political content. (so more masculine, because I select that music more for the music itself).

Most of what I listen to is not what I would call "queer". Some of it is, I guess. David Bowie, Rich Chigga, Jaden Smith, Higher Brothers, Boards of Canada, and Joji/Pink Guy, at the moment.

There's a punk rock band I like called The Queers. But I mostly listen to blues these days so I'd say not at all.

One of my favorite bands of all time is Judas Priest. As straight as their fanbase is, they have some really gay moments in their discography.

Aside from the artists who I know are queer... I honestly don't care or pay attention to that part of their lives, I just listen to the music.
