I live with my mom, but my dad was recently deceased. I have no friends, no relatives, no brothers and no sisters. I am transgender female, but my mom will not accept.

    Hi and welcome to EC.

I sorry to hear about your dad. How are you coping?

Also, sorry to hear that your mum won’t be accepting. That must be hard. Is moving out an option for you?

I hope you find the support you’re looking for here.

Hello Okubo and welcome to EC! It's always hard loosing a family member. And it's hard if people, especially family don't accept your true self. Whenever it gets too hard, then don't be afraid to create a thread and seek support.

    Thanks.
I believe am the first in my family that I am transitioning from male to female. I recently purchased girl clothes size 18 and purchased my first sports bra size 38 and purchased girl panties size 18, but I am not allowed to wear them in my apartment nor allowed to go outside in my neighborhood. I would have to secretly store them in my bag and able to change clothes in the gender neutral bathroom at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Gender Pathways Program and change back when I go home.

This Wednesday morning I made an appointment for sperm banking to be done at NW hospital and once the testing has been fully completed I get hormone replacement therapy started.

okubo.....Hello and a great big LGBTQIA+ welcome to Empty Closets! There is a sub-forum here titled “Gender Identity and Expression” if you post there I think you’ll find people who will understand what you are dealing with. This is a community of loving, caring and very supportive people and we will do our best to help you blend into the community. You can ask questions in any of the Sub-forums by creating a new thread or by joining in a conversation-thread that is already going. You can also post a message on anyone's Profile Page after you have made at least ten posts yourself. If you have a question that is somewhat private you can always send a Private Message to any Staff Member. Normally Private Messages can only be exchanged between two Full Members, but a PM to a Staff Member is an exception. :old_wink: We are so glad that you have found us here on Empty Closets! :old_big_grin:

Right now, moving out is not an option. I am still living with my mom only.

I’m sorry to hear that. Could you work towards making it possible?

I have two possible places to try. One is Chicago House and the other is Thresholds.
I recently tried Chicago House, but could not find employment. I was not diagnosed with gender dysphoria that time.
I tried Thresholds, but there are currently no openings and if I want to apply for housing, there is a very long wait list and I have not gotten any social security income yet. I am still waiting on their ruling. Also I cannot work yet either.
