Do you do public dancing, or do you stick to dancing when (you think) no-one's watching? I like to put on a nice tune and shake my booty when I'm doing dishes or just feeling jolly and dance-y. But public dancing, like in a club or something: HECK NO!!! I don't think I look good dancing, and would much rather get a seat at a table and watch other people dancing than join in. At a party with family, I'd do "group dancing" like when there are specific moves to a song, but I feel awkward just standing there, having to do my own moves. I probably look ridiculous anyway, so I stick to previously choreographed songs only

I voted the first option, but I do dance. When forced.

If it's group dancing and it's specific, it might be fun. For most types of "popular" dances, though, I most definitely inherited the "white gene."

Dancing, especially at a club can be a lot of fun and a stress-reliever.
More formal dancing can be fun, but often is a little less stress-relieving because one tends to be more concerned with staying in step - and coordinating with one's partner and possibly within a group, depending on the type of dance - than just letting go...

I love to go out dancing. I'm not really one to dance unprompted in private. I'm really white. But going out to a dance club--I'm definitely there! In my experience there are few bonds as tight as between you and the guys you go out dancing with.

In situations where one is expected to dance (weddings, parties, etc) Im pretty shy about dancing until you get a few drinks in me.

In semi-private places when around one or two people i'm comfortable with, i dance like there's no tomorrow.

In the fourth grade, my music teacher decided our class should promenade in front of the school at the next assembly. After practicing for weeks and weeks, my class was bitching and moaning about having to perform it so badly, that she said we didnt deserve the privelege of dancing. Thats the closest I've ever been to knowing how "properly" dance.

I don't dance at all, I don't like it - partly because I'm a stereotypical white person when it comes to dancing (see: I can't) and partly because I just feel awkward doing it, even if I'm alone.

I like musical theatre, so I've danced in plays, but I very rarely dance for fun. I've danced with my friends as a joke, at inappropriate times. At a place where dancing is expected, like a school dance I wouldn't dance.

I come from a family of really good dancers so its only natural that I know how but when I do dance as of late...its mostly in a club environment.

I don't dance. I always feel stupid and I have no sense of rhythm so I can't keep in time.

I chose other because I will dance in public, but I don't love it. People can watch me if they want, but I'm not so big on it.

I selected "when I think no one's watching" but people tell me I dance in public (although when they say this it's really me just walking around in a square because I'm nervous).

I dance whenever I want to. But I'm not very good unless I've had time to memorize a dance routine to a song

When I was younger I HATED the idea of dancing. Then a friend took me to a dance party thing and I just let myself go and it was the BEST feeling. It turns out I'm pretty good at it, too, or at least the people who kept coming to dance with me told me. All those secret times in my room imitating Madonna, Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul paid off! Eventually we just got into this thing where we danced all night just about every weekend. We'd come out totally soaked in sweat even in winter. So much fun!

Dancing is fun. Not the formal dancing, but the dont-care-if-anybody-sees-this-dancing. The other day I started dancing in the office when walking from one person to the next one, nobody cared.

I also like to dance in my home when nobody sees it, when doing the dishes or just in my living room.

I'm kinda shy about dancing. I'm trying not to be, though, as I would like to be able to do lip sync performances in front of people. Which requires a bit of dancing.
