    Happy New Year, EC! :tada:

I hope you have a great, happy and more importantly healthy 2021. This past year has been incredibly difficult for those affected by the pandemic (which, lets face it, is all of us). Here's hoping that the next year has better things in store for us!

A lot of people take time to reflect over New Year and commit to make positive changes for the year ahead. This month, we're asking: what changes are you hoping to make for the new year? Do you have any hopes or goals for 2021?

    Happy 2021 everybody

    I have several:
    * I want to give journaling an honest shot. Apparently it can be beneficial for people with anxiety/mental health, and I'm hoping it can also help hold me accountable for my other goals
    * Get a better job - The bar is really low. Either something that pays more or is a better step in the right direction (Or both!)
    * Improve upon relationships

I have ten goals set for this year (including things like "Finish three video games" and "Read 75 books") but my main resolution for the year is to "Do five things I've never done before." It's a resolution I've been setting every year since college and I accomplish it every year.

Pretty cliche, but my main goal this year is to work out more. I ended up getting a weekly plan to try and do, so here's hoping I can stick to it.
My other goal is to do well in my classes for this semester.

I don't really ever set any goals for the year. My goal this year though is to keep pushing forward, no matter what twists and turns happen. Last year was a rough one given everything that happened. So, I guess you could say that my goal is to adapt and continue moving forward with confidence.

I almost never make New Year's Resolutions, with one exception. One year I made more than just a New Year's Resolution, I made an entire 18-month plan. That year was 2020 and my plan was shot to hell within a few months, so no, I do not have a New Year's Resolution.

    • Lose some weight so I can feel better about myself and live a better/healther life
    • Get my drivers license (Considering I just turned 27 last month and have had my permit for too long)
    • Declutter. I have too much mess and I need to get rid of it.
    • Read more. I've fallen so behind on my reading list.
    • Get back into art (maybe)

    Cancer
Serious bladder infection almost killed me
My vacation got messed up due to a trans cooler line,,,
Then every thing burned to the ground,, everything I own.
So I welcome 2021 with open arms

Be kind to myself. Forgive others and myself for pettiness. Appreciate the wonder of myself and the wonders of others-especially kindness.

I have got a little bi flag lapel pin. To wear it on my shirt collar facing out instead of ass backwards. Some of the young people show so much courage. Why is this one little thing so hard for me?

To be more compassionate towards myself.
To talk to people more, to communicate instead of keeping things to myself.
    To read more.
To learn more about what God has in store for me.

To lose weight. But then I look at food and have no willpower. My mother keeps fat shaming me. She insists she’s not, but I know I’m fat I don’t need it commented on all the time. I could try harder to lose weight but I have no motivation and I comfort eat. I also have a new year’s resolution to finally get my hair cut. It was last year’s resolution but never happened. I refuse to let my mother cut it. I’d probably have to shave it to fix it.

I am quite late to this thread (and to this forum itself), but my resolution for 2021 was self-care. I began the new year seeking a therapist to help me with my mental health issues. I've been seeing doctors after a couple of years without doing so. Most of the time, it's been quite hard to get myself to value myself enough to do these things, but I believe I'm making progress.
