Well I did it. I snail mail letters to second set of friends, telling them I'm gay. I articulated supporting facts, you know so they don't think I've been captured by Martians and being tortured.

It's actually better for my situation to snail mail for everyone is out and about, so this allows me to inform them in a more personal way. As apposed to electronic format which is less personal.

As soon as I dropped the letters into the post slot, I felt nauseated and dizzy. With the first set of friends I told, I actually went home and showered the filth off me via three separate showers.

I wonder, will this ever get easier?

    Well done!
I'd be touched if I got a letter in the mail as thoughtful and personal as that.
I hope you feel great: you deserve to, being brave like that.

    How nice!
I wish I would've been that thoughtful when I was coming out to my friends and family.

Congrats! Please keep us updated on their response. I am planning on doing the same method around the new year. I am potentially going to medical school next year and there are some friends I want to thank and tell p. Would love to know how this went p.

brainwashed - I remember my first time. I did pretty much the same thing and sent an email to a friend to tell her. I was going back and forth for weeks beforehand. I finally wrote the email and hit send. I thought my head would explode. she was accepting and we had a talk. a few days later I felt calmer and relieved. a bit giddy. I had to do it. I have come out selectively to others since that time and in two cases, face to face. does it get easier. a bit, yes.
