I listen to classical music by long dead white men...so err I don't know. Most of the stuffs I've been listening to are tv series' and games' soundtracks.

What is considered LGBT music? Does the artist have to be LGBT? Or is it a type of music?

I'm more into urban and R&B and soul Hip Hop music. So artists that fall under that category as well that happen to be LGBT.?

I know there is a lot of homophobia in urban music but whatever.

I do show favortism towards LGBT artists, if that's what the fuck you are saying, of course.

Artists I like that perform R&B urban, soul mellow music that happen to be LGBT?

    Boy George
    Freddie Mercury
    Elton John
    Adam Lambert
    Rahsaan Patterson
    Alex Newell
    Frank Ocean
    Sam Smith
    Beth Ditto
    KD Lang
    LP
    Syd from Odd Future
    Lady Gaga
    Fergie

I have a hugely diverse taste in music which could be anything from rock to RnB. So I could only say my music taste would be 30% LGBT :joy: These are the artists I actually listen to:

Halsey, Kehlani, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Lauren Juaregui, Frank Ocean, Sam Smith, Fergie, Lady Gaga, mnek and Years and Years.

Overall... somewhat. On one hand some of my fave artists came out as LGBT. On the other hand some of my fave artists were/are really against LGBT

As for the music itself I rarely look deeply into lyrics. The voice is mainly an instrument to my ears

    Seconded \m/

I only ever listen to Scissor Sisters and Cher. Only joking... My music taste is so broad that it's hard to pin down...

I listen to national anthems, Carnatic music, and what most of you would call "classical music," which I would split into many separate styles. As far as I know, the composers are not queer.

I know that there are some gay people in those genres, such as Rob Halford and Freddie Mercury.

Yeah, it actually kind of surprises me that Gaahl is gay, considering that there are a lot of homophobes in the black metal genre. And he is nothing like the stereotypical gay person.

I listen to a variety of music, however it does tend to be pretty queer leaning in terms of themes and artists....

Queer music is quite a big category by itself, and it truly depends what you count. If you are going by how many queer artists I listen to, then I can certainly name a lot.

Are you counting bands that are mostly straight, except for one or two band members? How about people who are rumoured to be gay/bi? What about straight groups/artists that are influenced, or have influenced the LGBT community, or sing a pro LGBT message? Groups that have a large LGBT following? Singers that used to identify as LGBT, but no longer do?
