Who likes classical music?

I love classical music. Probably don't listen to it as much as I "should", but I definitely appreciate it.

If you're looking for an intense piece, a popular one would be The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky

 

Also a classical lover, although I'm personally drawn to pieces that are heavy with cello and base particularly.

For aggressive/intense, you might try Hector Berlioz. Specifically (but not limited to) his Symphonie Fantastique

 

I love classical music in general. I enjoy listening to it to cool down. My favourite must be Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.

I like classical music, yes.

 

The one that pack with energy is Nutcracker Russian Dance. I bet it will sound familiar to you because it is played on a lot of movies soundtrack. Well the whole of Nutcracker is pretty great.
And then there is Odile coda, the piece when Odile aka Black Swan doea her 32 fouettes, has a very triumphant feel to it.
Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 for those who love Tom and Jerry.
In the Hall of Mountain King and Pizzicato have this mischevious sneaky feelings to it.
Bach Air on a G string is somehow used in a lot in horror survival games but it's a pretty beautiful piece.

 

Beethoven's fifth. Duh. Everyone knows it.
Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries for more upbeat intenseness. You probably know it and just didn't know what it's called.

 

I like mostly well known and traditonal classical and I write my own for my violin and cello.

 

Not sure if you’re still looking for recommendations, as this thread seems to be from July, and it’s been resurrected recently haha. But I love classical! And I’m happy to recommend some pieces of music.

Beethoven & Bach are my favorites, and I find that both tend to have passionate, emotional, and sometimes aggressive compositions/styles, but there are a lot of great composers out there! Mozart & Chopin also have some awesome pieces you might want to check out.

For Beethoven, I recommend:
> Appassionata, 3rd Movement (my personal favorite)
> Moonlight Sonata, Movement 1
> Moonlight Sonata, Movement 3
> Pathetique, Movement 1 (sounds delicate and slow for the first two minutes, but then becomes quite tormented and lamenting as it goes on)
> Pathetique, Movement 3
> Tempest, Movement 3
> Symphony No. 5, Movement 1 (super popular)

For Bach, I recommend:
> Toccata & Fugue in D Minor, for pipe organ (one of his popular pieces, but it’s very powerful)

For Chopin, I recommend:
> Fantaisie Impromptu, Opus 66

For Mozart, I recommend:
> Symphony No. 40, G Minor, 1st Movement


Of course, I recommend listening to an entire piece of classical music by listening to all the movements of the song in order to get the full effect and the full feeling of the song. But those are just a few of my favorites that carry a lot of emotion and intensity to me. As you can tell, I like a lot of classical piano lol.

Oh yeah! I’m the biggest classical fan ever! Strauss II, awesome music.

 

Beethoven's Ninth is an amazing work.

 

I only hear classical music in a fancy restaurant. It soothes my soul, and I love it.

 

Not too knowledgeable, but played a lot of Bach at college (hard rock /metal guitarist) Beethoven, Elgar, Mozart do get an outing in the car on long drives

 

I do. Chopin is my favourite.

 

Chopin is my favourite as well. My favourite of his is Prelude in Db major.

I also like mariage d'amour (love marriage) by Paul de Senneville under the pseudonym of Chopin - Spring Waltz.
